Description: This product is a specially formularized IFN- Cell Stimulant solution. It is in an easy-to-use format. Interferon-gamma (IFN-) originally called macrophage-activating factor is a cytokine produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. The protein shares no significant homology with IFN- or the various IFN- family proteins. Mature IFN- exists as homodimers. Human IFN- is highly species specific and is biologically active only in human and primate cells. IFN- has antiviral, immunoregulatory, and anti-tumour properties. The protein also has the following activities: Increase antigen presentation of macrophages; Activate and increase lysosome activity in macrophages; Suppress Th2 cell activity; Cause normal cells to express class I MHC molecules; Promotes adhesion and binding required for leukocyte migration; Promotes NK cell activity. IFN- exerts its biological activities by binding to specific cell surface receptors with high-affinity binding sites. The IFN- receptor is present on almost all cell types except mature erythrocytes. The IFN- receptor is structurally related to the recently cloned IL-10 receptor.

Application Instruction:

1. Mix 200l of 50X Cell Stimulant solution with 9800l of medium (for one 96-well plate). This diluted mixture must be used within the day. Note: Although the product is sterilized, user may need to filter the diluted solution with 0.2 filter to prevent any contamination during the dilution process.

2. Apply 100l of the above mixture to a well (96-well plate) and incubate cells at 37 / 5%CO2 for 4hr~16hr. Collect the medium for further assays.

Storage Conditions: Store container at -20 for six months or at -70 for one year from date of receipt. Distilled 1X mixture must be used within one day.
